Global Road Safety Leadership Course 2018

The Global Road Safety Partnership, in partnership with the Johns Hopkins International Injury

Research Unit (JH-IIRU), hosted the second Regional Global Road Safety Leadership Course

in Nairobi, Kenya on the March 4 – 16, 2018. The course is offered twice each year, and is

made possible by the generous support of Bloomberg Philanthropies, as part of the Bloomberg

Philanthropies Initiative for Global Road Safety (BIGRS).

The two-week training program aims to build leadership capacity to understand, design,

advocate for, and implement effective road safety programs and policies among people who are

active in road safety activities from low- and middle-income countries. Participants, who are

nominated by key partner organisations within the BIGRS, are drawn from a wide field of

expertise including enforcement, policy, urban design, infrastructure, law, and journalism. GRSP

ZA General Manager, Lucky Molaudzi was privileged to attend the course in Kenya on behalf of

GRSP South Africa. The course covered topics drawn from the Decade of Action on Road

Safety's five pillars of action, which were delivered by experts from GRSP, JH-IIRU, WHO and
