Government, business and civil society - working together to save lives

Drive More Safely

When a road crash claims the life of a loved on a family is scarred for life. Drive More Safely was founded in a bid to try and prevent more families to experience the devastation of losing a loved one to a road crash.

Join us on our journey to make our roads a safer place to be on.

Drive More Safely is a registered NPO and works effortlessly towards safer roads and proper trained drivers. Our fully equipped training centre in situated in the beautiful South Peninsula where we have a computer lab where our community can obtain learner licence training, driver training in our K53 training yard and to ensure that our learner drivers are safe, responsible and competent, we include Hazard Perception training into our training programme. Our Youth programme runs over a year and includes Mechanical Competency and a First Aid diploma. At Drive More Safely we believe that education is the key to safer roads.

We proud ourselves in our “Child safety in the Vehicle” campaign which to date has handed out +/- 200 child safety seats to families who cannot afford these seats. We have been actively involved in the awareness towards child safety in moving vehicle and getting the law changed to ensure all children are safely strapped in. Become a partner in this campaign by donating your used child safety seat to us and we will hand it over to a needy child. Seats can be dropped off at  Imperial or email us.

Our “Child in traffic” programme assists children from 3 to 8 years old to become pedestrian wise. Our equipment is mobile so feel free to contact us and we will gladly visit your school, pre-school or function to empower our kiddies to be pedestrian wise.

Yearly Drive More Safely, together with WHO, remembers the thousands of lives lost on our roads by creating awareness on WORLD REMEMBRANCE DAY FOR ROAD CRASH VICTIMS every 3rd Sunday in November. So in 2012, light a candle for your loves one and encourage others to do the same in their area. Contact us if you need some information.

“TAKE A BREAK”, our December campaign on the N1. Contact us for more information.

Drive More Safely encourages you to take responsibility when you are behind the controls of a vehicle. Together we can make our roads a safer place to be on.
