The Global Road Safety Partnership 10th AGM was held on the 8 September 2017 at the BP (Pty) LTD South Africa Head Office in Parktown Johannesburg.

Members were welcomed by GRSP ZA Vice Chairperson, Ntobeko Mogadime and were presented with the financial year-end annual report.

Then followed by nominations for the GRSP ZA Board of directors.

Global Road Safety Partnership Africa Road Safety 2017 Seminar Looks at 2020 Targets

The Global Road Safety Partnership (GRSP) has met for the sixth time in Africa to discuss road safety on the continent, and ways to meet the fast-approaching UN Sustainable Development Goal target on road deaths. The UN SDG target is to halve deaths by 2020.

Held from 23-24 October in Cape Town, the Africa Road Safety 2017 seminar sought to share successes and results from across Africa towards achieving the targets. It brought together role-players from governments, institutions, industry, and civil society partners from several African countries. The Seminar provided opportunity for delegates to participate in 5 breakaway workshops on various road safety topics including effective data management, traffic policing and the involvement of private sector and communities.

Imperial Road Safety and The Department of Basic Education celebrate key educational milestone

1000 schools & over 1 million learners celebrated in Transport Month!

Imperial Road Safety in partnership with the Department of Basic Education, today announced that its Safe Scholars Programme has reached its 1000th school and has educated over 1 million learners around safe road usage. This programme, sanctioned by the Department of Basic Education (DoBE), aims at generating awareness around road safety for learner pedestrians in need of an outreach programme. It teaches them the fundamentals of safe road practices and provides them with reflective sashes which, thanks to the DoBE, has been made a mandatory part of these children's school uniform.
