Liam Clarke

RSP-SA Treasurer

Liam Clarke is a committed professional with a background in civil engineering and a keen interest in road safety. He has been in the transportation business for over 25 years, earning his GDE (Traffic/Transportation) from Wits and his BSc in Civil Engineering from the University of Strathclyde.

As a retired Commercial Manager for the Bakwena Platinum Corridor Concession for N1N4, Liam oversaw corporate operations and prioritised road safety initiatives along the corridor. His extensive knowledge and experience in the field motivate him to ensure safe road infrastructure. After working for the Tokoza Council for a while, Liam moved on to the City of Johannesburg, where he was actively involved in several road safety and improvement projects.

These interactions made Liam acutely aware of the challenges and complexities associated with enhancing road safety in urban environments. Liam approaches his job at Bakwena Platinum Corridor Concession deliberately, driven by a passion for truly improving the world. He uses his civil engineering and transportation expertise to implement innovative solutions that lower hazards and motivate drivers to drive more defensively.

Liam strongly advocates for community participation and collaboration in road safety initiatives outside of work. He actively seeks partnerships with the N1N4 corridor’s local government, businesses, and community groups to advance a culture of safety and awareness.

Liam Clarke’s dedication to road safety and his breadth of expertise and experience continue to be major factors in assuring the safety and well-being of drivers on the Bakwena Platinum Corridor. His guidance serves as a beacon for promoting improvements in transportation infrastructure and safe behaviour.
